Rules & Explanation of Turn Action Form
The rules of the Executioner's Pit are simple:
1) Fight within the limits of the rules of the PBeM game.
2) Don't die.
The Turn Action Form:
Character's Name & Password: Pick the name of your character. This is perhaps the most important section of the form, for if I don't know who you are, I won't know what you're doing. You will also need to provide me with your Password, the 6-8 digit word that only you and I know. This is needed to keep the turns sent in by nuts from eventually killing your characters. I MUST have your Password, or else I can't post your turn.
Move Character (Give Grid Coordiantes): If you are planning on moving your character, you need to give me the grid coordinates of where you want to move him/her. You'll notice that along the top of the image of the Executioner's Pit are the letters A-F, while along its side are the numbers 1-6; these are called the Hortizontal and Vertical Primary Coordinates. You'll also notice that, within the box marked A and the one marked 1, the numbers 1-5 appear, representing the smaller boxes within the larger boxes; these are the Horizontal and Vertical Secondary Coordinates.
In order to move your character, simply give me the Horizontal Coordinates and the Vertical Coordinates of where you want your character to go. As an example, let us say that you are currently standing in the center of the arena. The coordinates for this location would be C, 5 by 3, 5. Your character can move 10 feet per turn and you decide to evade your opponent by backing away. You could then move your character to the coordinates D, 2 by 3, 5, which would leave your character 10 feet to the right of where he/she originally was.
To make it easier for you to find where your character is, I will place the initial of your character's first name on the image of the Executioner's Pit, as well as an icon indicating the position of you opponent.
Attack Opponent - Weapon Attack: If you opt to have your character attack your opponent with a weapon, you will need to fill in this box with some action information. This box if for all weapon attacks, including enchanted weapons (when allowed within the games) and weapons that might dischange a blast of magic. This also includes any hand-to-hand attacks you may want your character to perform.
Attack Opponent - Magical Attack: If you decide that you want your character to attack with a magical spell, you'll want to fill in some information in this box. This includes the casting of spells from magic-users, clerics, druids, and illusionists, as well as any sub-classes of each. This box should NOT be used for the casting of defensive spells, however, such as shield and protection spells. Those actions will be posted within a different box.
Other Attack Information: If there is any other information that you don't think belongs in the two aforementioned boxes, and you think you need to send it along, it should go within this box.
Character Dialogue: This box is reserved for conversations between the players and any comments you may want your character to make toward your opponent(s). Although most of us would probably blast out a profane volley of words after being clubbed in the head, please refrain from doing so within this box. Of course, if you slip up and send me a nasty 4- or 5-letter word by accident, I'll edit it out.
Defensive Action: This is where you cast your protection and shield spells, and where you have your character drop down behind a tower shield before being hit by a wave of fire or acid. You should also post any information pertaining to defensive stances your character might take.
Questions/Comments to GM: If you've got any questions and/or comments for the Game Master about anything, or if you simply want to remind me how great I am, please post it within this box.
Send Button: Please review everything before sending it along, for revisions won't be allowed after you send me the information. If I get an E-mail from a player, pleading that I let his/her character cast a magic missile spell instead of a sleep spell, I will disregard this cry for mercy. So make sure everything looks good before clicking on the button.
I will respond as quickly as I can and let you know when the results of your actions have been posted. You will be able to look at the results under the Events of Last Turn section of the form. I will also post any changes in the stats of the characters. If after reading this you have questions outside of your turn action, just send me an E-mail on the side.
